“My mission here is to lead my team towards continuous results and adjust their development plan according to their individual needs I am giving my best to lead my team by example, inspiring them to learn, and staying ambitious towards their accomplishments as well as professional and personal growth”
1. After years of building a career in an IT company, why did you decide to become a part of an international recruitment agency? Why do you choose The Hive as a place to continue growing and expanding your knowledge and experience?
I have been working in an international IT company as the Head of Talent acquisition for four years, having an excellent opportunity to learn about the industry, partner with IT professionals, and get familiar with their mindset and culture. On the other hand, I was ambitious to expend my overall recruiting experience and skills regarding different industries in the international labour market, as well as to lead a team of ambitious, like-minded people. I liked Dragana’s concrete vision and determination regarding the Belgrade team, so I did not hesitate to take on this unique opportunity to join the Hive.
2. Besides leading a team in Serbia, you are also covering positions in the Switzerland market. Can you share with us why you find it important to know how the international market functions? Which benefits do you have from working with a wide scope of clients on a global basis?
I love to learn more about different markets, business cultures, and people. The chance to work internationally is challenging enough to feel excited continually and strive for significant accomplishments. I did not have the opportunity to recruit for the Switzerland market, so it was an exceptional added value for me. We are giving our best to facilitate the recruitment process for our clients, providing them with the best possible matches and prove our value. Our clients and our candidates appreciate a modern approach and methodology we are using, and it results in mutual trust and successful long-term relationships. Also, I appreciate efforts that our leaders invest in different technologies and platforms, which supports us in delivering the best results.
3. You are leading a team of Junior Recruiters, so we would like to find out more about why you like working with young talent and how you manage to find different ways to motivate them?
I started my career in sales within the financial industry and was lucky to be mentored by several great leaders. Based on this experience, I would say that learning from your mentors’ approach and real examples are the most efficient ways to improve yourself and grow your career. My mission here is to lead my team towards continuous results and adjust their development plan according to their individual needs. I try to understand their challenges and encourage them on daily basis to be a better version of themselves by discovering their genuine motivation and improving their skillset. We are looking to find the core motivation for every candidate we are hiring during our interview process. We are developing the right approach to their needs and carefully paying attention to their career progress. We are using 360 feedback and training to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge needed to finish the tasks and become autonomous.
4. As a company, we are investing a lot of time to onboard the newcomers. How do you manage to onboard your team, what strategies and tools do you like to use in this process? Sharing your experience could play a huge difference for the people who are thriving to learn more how to deal with the generation Z.
The Hive’s onboarding is a very well-planned activity, and I am amazed by the time and effort they invested as a group to develop such an excellent onboarding strategy. We think that juniors who are willing to learn have a great chance to become great recruiters, and we will make sure to provide them with appropriate training for further development. We are using an online learning platform, constantly updating training materials, and sharing our experience and knowledge. I am trying to inspire them to learn more, search for answers, and persist when encountering an obstacle. I am amazed by the power of retraining. I will use the quote from the famous NFL coach, Vince Lombardy, who said, “If you want to be successful, remember and get back to basics and make sure you’re executing the fundamentals”. I am giving my best to lead my team by example, inspiring them to learn, and staying ambitious towards their accomplishments as well as professional and personal growth.
